How we check what's on this site
Every fact here has a source and a date it was last checked. This page explains where the facts come from and where they fall short.

A source and a date for every fact
Every fact is stored alongside the address of its source page and the date of its check. That goes for hours and addresses as much as rules, help lines and bus routes.
Anything the source doesn't say gets cut, even if it sounds right. When sources disagree and the question can't be settled, the page leaves the number out or tells the reader to check with the casino.
Each venue guide shows the date its details were last checked.
Where the facts come from
We go first to whoever is responsible for a fact.
- Hours come only from each casino's own website, or an archived copy of it when the site can't be read. Addresses and phone numbers come from the same pages, or from a map listing.
- Age, ID and advertising rules: Alberta's gaming law and the standards of Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC).
- Help lines and self-exclusion: Recovery Alberta, 211 Alberta and GameSense, AGLC's responsible gambling program.
- Buses, trains and fares: the transit agencies' own pages and timetables. That means Edmonton Transit Service and the City of Edmonton's open data, St. Albert Transit, Leduc Transit and the airport. Where those fall short, transit apps and open map data fill the gap.
Venue guides also mention what visitors tend to talk about, such as parking or a meal before a hockey game. Those themes come from public reviews. We retell them in our own words, with no stars, no scores and no quotes.
Hours change, and holidays are not covered
Hours on this site are the ones each casino publishes, as far as this guide could read them. Casinos can change them, and holiday hours are not covered at all. Before a holiday visit, check the casino's official site or call ahead.
Two details catch people out. Slots and tables can keep different hours. At PURE Casino Edmonton, the slots and poker room run 24 hours, and table games run from 10 AM to 3 AM.
Closing times after midnight need care too. When Friday's hours end at 3 AM, the doors close at 3 AM on Saturday morning.
Every clock on the site, the planner included, runs on Edmonton time wherever you open the page.
Where an answer is an estimate
Some answers are estimates, and the page labels them. The planner gives distances along a straight line and does not follow roads. Travel times on the late-night page are rough road estimates, not a promise that you'll arrive before closing.
What we leave out
We don't rate casinos or give them stars, and we never make up a visitor's opinion. A detail that can't be confirmed is left out rather than guessed. So a guide may say nothing about something you expected to find there.
If something looks wrong
Letters go to mailbox@edmontoncasinoca.com when a fact looks wrong or an hour has moved. That mailbox belongs to the guide alone, not to any casino.
If a detail here differs from what a casino publishes, go by the casino's own site. Call ahead when it matters.
Questions
Do you list holiday hours?
Holiday hours are not covered on this site. Check the casino's official site or call ahead before a holiday visit.
Why is the planner's distance shorter than my map app's?
The planner measures a straight line from the area you pick. Real roads rarely run straight, so the trip itself is longer.
Are links to casino websites paid?
No, links to the casinos' official sites are never paid. The home page is the only place with paid links: a header button and a box in the section on playing online. Both are marked Ad and go to one online casino partner. The site earns a commission, explained on How we make money.
