Who makes this guide

Edmonton Casino Guide is an independent local guide to the eight casinos in and around Edmonton. It is not a casino, and nobody can place a bet here.

What the site does

The site answers a practical question: which casino can a reader reach right now? The planner on the home page shows which are open, whether tables are running and how far each is from the reader's part of town.

Around it sit short guides to each casino. Other pages cover common plans: a late night, a first visit, the trip there and back.

The site takes no bets, holds no accounts and handles no payments. Links to the casinos' official sites are not paid.

The home page holds paid links to one online casino partner, each marked Ad. One is a button in the header; the other is a box in the section on playing online. A commission is paid to the site on those links, and the partner filling those spots may be replaced. How we make money explains it.

The eight casinos

Each one has a short guide with its hours, the way there and what is nearby.

Who writes it

The Edmonton Guide desk
Keeps and checks Edmonton Casino Guide

Edmonton Casino Guide is the work of the Edmonton Guide desk, which writes and edits every page. Nothing here carries a personal name. The desk checks each fact against the page that published it and dates the check.

The desk works for no casino and no operator. How the desk works, and where to write, is set out on the desk's page.

The photos of the casinos and the city are real photographs under free licences that allow commercial use. Each one carries its author's name. The guide does not take photos from casino websites or from other people's articles.

Any picture without an author credit is generated, not a photograph. The people who appear in those pictures are invented. Some casinos have no freely licensed photo, so their guides show the surrounding area instead. Three of the generated pictures start from real photographs, with the camera angle and time of day changed a little. They show the Century Mile track and apron, the Grand Villa building on 104 Avenue and Century Casino Edmonton's sports bar.

Questions

Who checks the facts on this site?

The Edmonton Guide desk checks each fact against its source before it goes on a page, and records the date of the check. The site does not track holiday hours. Hours change, so check a casino's own site before a holiday visit.

Is this site run by a casino?

It's an independent local guide, not a casino. We don't take bets, hold accounts or process payments, and links to casinos' official sites are not paid.
